Sweet and Kind Bag Charms
Beaded bag charms made by Millie, our owner's eight-year-old daughter, as part of Sweet and Kind. A portion of every sale goes to the Middleburg Humane Foundation, and these are the larger pieces in her range.
Each charm hangs from a paracord loop with a clip, which is what lets it move between a bag, a purse and a set of keys without being tied on. The paracord comes in pink, purple, orange, hot pink, blue and multi-pink, and the beads strung onto it include bows, butterflies, stars, bears and gingerbread men.
There are two versions. The single strand sits at the lower end and the three strand is the dearer of the two, and because they are built the same way they can be hung together on one bag or split between two. Most people buy the three strand for a bag they carry every day and the single for something smaller.
Every piece is one of one. The beads are threaded by hand and Millie chooses the combination, so no two charms are ever the same, and the photograph shows the exact charm you will receive rather than a representative one. Once it has sold, that combination is gone.
They work as an accessory for a designer bag or an everyday tote, and as an easy present for a teenager, because at this price a charm can be given on its own without needing an occasion.

The clip matters more than it looks. Because it opens and closes properly rather than being a loop you thread, a charm can be moved between bags in a second, which is why people often buy one rather than several. It also means it can be taken off before a bag is stored, so the beads do not catch on anything.
