Collection: Halloween

Halloween Gifts, Decorations and Treats

Everything for the end of October, from a bag of candy under five dollars up to the hand-painted paper mache pieces. It covers decorations, ornaments, sweets, books and the small things children actually ask for.

Bethany Lowe Designs carries the most weight in the decorations. Their paper mache luminaries are ghosts with cut-out eyes and mouths that glow once you put a small light inside, one with a glittered spider dangling from its head and one with a bat on a wire arm. They are painted by hand and meant for a mantel or a windowsill rather than a box in the attic. Their Scary Batty Jack bucket is a small pumpkin with bat wings that takes a light or a handful of sweets.

The ornaments cover a wide run. Old World Christmas supplies the witch gnome, the trick-or-treat kitten, the witch kitten, the pumpkin and the witches' shoe, and there is a set of twelve miniatures for anyone filling a small tree or a branch arrangement. The flocked spiders come in black and in tinsel. Leeann Kress makes the larger hand-painted pieces from paper pulp, cotton cording, glitter and wire, and those are the ones bought to keep.

For sweets, Sugarfina covers the grown-up end with small boxes of rainbow bears, bourbon bears, heavenly sours and apple frogs, all in brightly coloured packaging. Flossie handles the children with single-serve cotton candy in birthday cake and strawberry, which is vegan and nut-free. The Schylling Nee Doh Squish-O-Ween countdown is the piece that sells most in the whole collection: a thirteen-piece set that opens one square a day through October, which solves the waiting problem neatly.

The books are worth a look if you are buying for a child. Moomin and the Little Ghost handles the gentle end, Lulu Mayo's A Million Little Monsters is a colouring book, and there are Halloween titles for older readers. Witch's Brew covers themed cocktails for the adults.

The smaller things fill it out: match boxes in witch, owl, pumpkin and snake designs at a few dollars each, a foil stamped stationery set in purple, tarot decks, and the Midnight Strike candle.

One note: match boxes ship to continental US addresses only, under the rules on flammable goods.

We keep the range in stock, and new pieces arrive through the season. If there is something particular you are looking for that you are not able to find on the website, reach out to us and we will be glad to help.
