This is the range for writing things down, from a paperback notebook under twenty dollars up to the large brass desk pads. It splits into guided journals, which give you a page and a prompt, and blank notebooks, which give you nothing at all.

The guided journals are the Intelligent Change range. The Five Minute Journal runs 264 pages and lasts six months, undated so you can start it any time, and it is bound in linen and cotton with a cotton ribbon and printed on recycled FSC paper. The Three Question Journal works the same way in a green linen edition. Notes to Mindfulness lasts three months across 249 pages and comes in natural linen with gold foil and two ribbons. The 3x Happier Journal is the shorter one at two months and 256 pages. If you have never kept a journal, one of these is a far easier place to start than a blank book.

Leuchtturm1917 makes up the largest part of the notebooks. The A5 hardcover is their most popular format, at 251 pages in ruled, dotted or plain paper, and it comes with two page markers, a blank table of contents, numbered pages, a gusseted pocket, an elastic band and eight perforated sheets at the back. The B6+ paperback is the lighter version at 123 pages and 180 grams. Both are thread bound so they open flat, which matters once you are writing on the right-hand page.

Our own hardcover journals come in navy, light blue, light pink and dark green with matching pocket notes in B6. Semikolon's Cutting Edge notebooks are made in their own factory in Europe using book linen and a thread-stitched block of Swedish Munken paper, which gives them a nicer feel than the price suggests. Hightide's Puggy's Best paperback is recycled paper, made in Japan, at 150 blank sheets.

The brass desk pads are the piece that sells most here. Solid brass with a non-slip backing and bright white paper that is micro-perforated for clean removal, so the sheet comes away without a ragged edge. They come in three sizes and look better as the brass dulls.
