Collection: Christmas

Christmas Gifts, Ornaments and Advent Calendars

Everything for the season gathers here: keepsake ornaments, Christmas books, holiday stationery, decorations and the small edible gifts that fill a table. Prices run from a few dollars for a sticker sheet or a bag of candy up to the larger acrylic tray sets and paper mache pieces.

The children's books are the most popular thing in the collection. How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney? is the one that sells most, and it sits alongside Madeline's Christmas, Mice Skating and Christmas Comes to Moominvalley, which brings Tove Jansson's Moominvalley into the season. They are hardbacks, sized for reading aloud, and they are the kind of present that gets bought alongside something smaller. There is more for younger readers in gifts for kids.

The ornaments cover several materials. Our own Silk Fox and Silk Horse are handmade in plush with a ribbon hang tag and a brass tag carrying our name, and they are made annually rather than carried over. Elena Medina's paper mache hearts and gourds are hand painted and glittered with German glass, and each carries a velvet loop for hanging. Kurt S. Adler's Noble Gems range covers the glass shapes, including hot air balloons, ice cream vendors and glass peppermint candies, and Old World Christmas supplies the traditional figures. There are beaded butterflies in dupioni silk with iridescent sequins, and velvet mushrooms in a run of colours.

For writing, the foil stamped guided thank-you sets include ten cards and lined envelopes in a clear acrylic box, with a printed prompt on each card so a child knows where to start. That is the practical answer to the week after Christmas, when the presents are open and the notes still have to be written.

The smaller end is where most orders pick up something extra. Hammond's all-natural candy comes in peppermint gift bags, the letterpress cards from Egg Press cover the designs you would actually send, Pipsticks supplies foil-accented sticker sheets, and the scalloped acrylic trays come in Christmas designs.

We keep the range in stock through the season, and the seasonal designs change each year. If there is something particular you are looking for that you are not able to find on the website, reach out to us and we will be glad to help.
