This collection gathers the pieces that suit a romantic occasion: stationery for writing something by hand, keepsakes that last past the day itself, and smaller gifts for the people around you. Most of it sits under forty dollars.

The keepsake ornaments are the heart of it. Every Little Something makes a silk fox and a silk horse each year as part of our own ornament collection, and both are handmade in plush with a gold-grain hang tag and a brass oval tag carrying our name. The fox comes in one colourway and the horse in maroon and blue. They are light enough to hang, and they are the pieces people keep on a shelf rather than packing away with the tree. The ornament collection covers the wider range.

For writing, the foil stamped stationery sets include designs made for the occasion, with lined envelopes and cards in a clear acrylic box. The hardcover journals in light pink are bound in book cloth, and the scalloped acrylic trays and notepads come in patterns including Paper Crane and pastel florals. A journal, a tray and a set of cards together cover most of what someone might actually use.

The smaller end is where most of this is bought. The ELS pocket watercolour palette, the Mini Five Minute Journal in pink, scented gel pens whose ink changes as you write, and OOLY's sticker books and note pads, which start under ten dollars. The Miffy memo pads are the smallest thing here and the easiest to add to an order.

There are also the pieces that make a room feel like an occasion rather than a gift: the Helle Mardahl Bonbonniere Mini in bubblegum and spearmint, small enough to sit on a bedside table, and the Pearl Dust and Magician mini candles from Nette, which arrive in glass vessels worth keeping once the wax is gone. Marin Montagut's pocket trays do the same job at a smaller size, and they are one of the better-value pieces in the range.

Because every one of these is chosen rather than made for a date, most of it stays on the site all year, and the seasonal designs change as the calendar turns.
