Kids Books and Picture Books
Picture books, board books and the titles that get read until the cover gives out. Most sit between ten and twenty dollars, and the range runs from books for a toddler up to activity and reference titles for older children.
The picture books are the heart of it. How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney? is the one that sells most, and it sits alongside Madeline's Christmas, Mice Skating, Moomin and the Little Ghost and This Is Not My Hat, which between them cover Christmas, winter and the everyday. They are hardbacks, sized for reading aloud at bedtime rather than for a child to hold alone.
For older children, covered with the rest of gifts for kids, there are the Dangerous Book for Boys and the Daring Book for Girls, which are full of things to make, do and look up rather than stories, and they work well for a child who has moved past picture books but is not ready for a novel. The Scariest Book Ever and We Are Already Haunting Here! are the Halloween titles, and Catphabet is an alphabet book built entirely from cats.
The activity and reference end covers junk journaling, hand-lettering, and Brambly Hedge's festive colouring book. The Botanist's Sticker Anthology holds more than a thousand botanical images and does double duty as a sticker book and a reference volume, which makes it a gift for an adult as much as a child. There are also Janod's Magneti'book sets, which are technically toys but sit here: a magnetic board with forty-eight magnets and sixteen cards, for ages three to eight.
If you are buying for a child whose tastes you do not know, a picture book is the safest choice, and the ones here are chosen because they are read more than once.
We keep the range in stock, and new titles arrive as they are published. If there is a particular book you are looking for that you are not able to find on the website, reach out to us and we will be glad to help.
