Every Little Something is getting settled into our new home in historic downtown Leesburg, Virginia — and we were excited to see the story behind the business recently featured by Loudoun Now in “Building Connections with Every Little Something.”
That idea — connection — gets pretty close to why Every Little Something exists in the first place.
We sell stationery, gifts, creative activities and beautiful things for the home and desk. But the bigger idea has always been about creating more opportunities for people to put down a screen, walk into a real shop, pick something up, write something by hand, give a meaningful gift or spend time making something.
Our new Leesburg shop gives us another place to do exactly that.
Who Is Every Little Something?
Every Little Something is an independent stationery, gift and design company founded in 2014 by artist and designer Nicole Ferguson.
Nicole is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), with a background in graphic design, typography, color theory and print design. She first built Every Little Something around fully custom wedding invitations and event stationery before expanding the business into e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retail.
Today, Every Little Something operates shops in two historic Northern Virginia downtowns:

A New Stationery and Gift Shop in Downtown Leesburg
The Leesburg location is our second brick-and-mortar shop and builds on what we started in Middleburg.
The assortment is deliberately broad enough that you can walk in without knowing exactly what you need.
You might be looking for a birthday gift. A hostess gift. A notebook. A great pen. A card you actually want to send. Something for your desk. A creative activity for a child. Or nothing in particular.
That last one matters.

Why We Chose Leesburg, Virginia
Leesburg made sense for Every Little Something because it combines a real historic downtown with one of Northern Virginia's most active and growing communities.
It is a place where people still walk from one business to another. They shop, eat, meet friends and spend time downtown rather than simply driving into a shopping center for one transaction and leaving.
That's the kind of environment we wanted.
Our shop at 1 Loudoun Street SW is in the heart of historic downtown Leesburg, within walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops and other independent businesses.
Every Little Something customers also have complimentary parking directly behind the shop, accessible from Royal Street SW.
For people coming from elsewhere in Loudoun County, Northern Virginia or the Washington, D.C. region, Leesburg is also an easy destination for an afternoon or weekend visit.
Building a Different Kind of Retail Experience
Retail is changing quickly. We don't think the answer is trying to make a physical store behave more like the internet.
We think it should do the opposite.
A good store gives you a reason to be there in person.
You can feel the paper. Try the pen. Flip through the journal. Let your child discover an activity they have never seen before. Ask someone for a recommendation. Find a gift you weren't searching for.
That human side of shopping is becoming more important, not less.
It's also why we're building events and community programming into the Leesburg location. We want the shop to become a place where people have reasons to come back beyond simply buying something.
From Custom Wedding Invitations to Two Virginia Shops
Every Little Something started with paper.
Nicole built the company creating fully custom wedding stationery for couples across the United States and abroad. Every commission begins from scratch rather than a pre-designed template, with the invitation, artwork, typography, printing and day-of pieces developed around the individual event.
That belief in original design and tangible materials eventually expanded into retail.
The Middleburg shop opened in 2024. Leesburg followed in 2026.
They are different parts of the same idea: in an increasingly digital world, tangible things still matter.
A handwritten note matters.
A great invitation matters.
A gift someone took the time to choose matters.
And places where people can actually connect with one another still matter too.
