Collection: Wax Seals

Wax Seals and Brass Stamps

Self-adhesive wax seals, made for finishing an envelope or a wrapped parcel without the faff of melting wax over a flame. Each set holds ten seals, and they come in four designs: a horse, a bow, a clover and hearts.

The seals are already formed, so there is nothing to melt and nothing to drip. You peel one off the backing and press it onto the paper, which means a letter can be sealed properly at a desk rather than needing a candle and a steady hand. That is the difference between these and traditional sealing wax, and it is why they get used rather than sitting in a drawer.

The colours, which sit with the rest of the stationery, are what make them work with the range. The bow comes in gold, the clover in copper, the hearts in rose and the horse in blue, so there is a seal for most of the stationery we carry. Gold sits with the foil stamped cards, and the deeper tones suit the collage sets. A seal and a set of cards is a complete gift that costs very little, and the seal is the part people notice.

They are equally at home on a wrapped parcel in place of a bow, on a gift tag, or on the back of an envelope to close the flap. Because they are self-adhesive rather than wax, they also travel: a set in a bag means a thank-you note can be finished anywhere.

One note on use. Press firmly and hold for a moment rather than sliding, since the adhesive takes a second to grab, and avoid positioning one over a crease where the paper moves.

We make these in small batches. If there is a particular design or colour you are looking for that you are not able to find on the website, reach out to us and we will be glad to help.
