Loose Leaf and Bagged Tea
Three makers, and they do different things. Palais des Thes supplies the blends, Tea with Tae the everyday tubes, and 1986 the single-flower teas. Almost everything here sits between ten and twenty-five dollars.
Palais des Thes is the French house, and their teas are made in France and sold in tins measuring about three and a half by four and a half inches. The Tibetan Monks Tea blends black and green leaf with a distinct floral note, and the 7 Citrus Russian Blend brings seven citrus fruits onto a black tea base, which makes it bright rather than sharp. The Earl Grey is the familiar one and the easiest place to start. It is the most popular tea we carry.
Tea with Tae covers the everyday end with tubes of sixteen pyramid bags. The tubes are made from rigid recyclable paper comparable to good candle packaging, and the bags inside are plastic-free and biodegradable. The peppermint uses dried leaves grown in the United States, so it is cool and light rather than heavy, and the same range extends to lemon creme, honeybush, oolong, English breakfast, Bombay chai and matcha. At ten dollars a tube they make an easy small gift or an addition to an order.
1986 supplies the single-flower teas in chamomile, lavender and pink rose, which are the ones to buy if you want a plain, unblended cup rather than a flavoured one. There is also a tea ball infuser for anyone working with loose leaf rather than bags.
If you are buying for someone whose preferences you do not know, a tube is the safest choice because the packaging is half the gift, and the blends from this range are the ones most people will drink.
We keep the range in stock. If there is a particular blend you are looking for that you are not able to find on the website, reach out to us and we will be glad to help.
