Pen cases and pouches, mostly around the twenty dollar mark, built for a desk and a bag rather than for a drawer. The range is PuniLabo, made by Lihit Lab in Japan.

The Stand Up Pen Case is the one people come back for. It zips closed for carrying, and when you want to use it you press the bottom down on a desk and the case transforms into a cup, pushing the pens upward so you can see what you have rather than digging. There is an elastic on the top for an eraser, and the case holds everything upright and in view once it is open. It is a genuinely useful piece of design rather than a novelty.

The animal designs are what make them giftable. The standard range covers corgi, bear, pig, black rabbit and grey cat, and the Canine Collection adds five more, including a beagle in a vivid orange. Each has a face on the front and a printed lining.

The Lying Down Zipper Pouches, which pair with the pens range, are the flatter shape, for anyone carrying more than pens: cables, earbuds, a small notebook and the odds and ends that otherwise end up loose in a bag. They come in the same animal designs and the same twenty dollar bracket, and they sit comfortably alongside the stand-up cases.
