There is nothing quite like Christmas in Middleburg. Every December, our little town in the heart of Virginia's horse country transforms into one of the most festive destinations in Northern Virginia. Washington Street fills with families, horses, hounds, holiday decorations, and visitors who return year after year for one of the region's most beloved Christmas traditions.
On Saturday, December 5, 2026, the annual Christmas in Middleburg celebration returns with two signature events: the Middleburg Hunt Review and the Christmas Parade.
A Christmas Parade Unlike Any Other
The festivities begin at 11:00 AM with the Middleburg Hunt Review, a tradition that reflects the town's deep equestrian roots. Riders in traditional hunt attire make their way through historic downtown Middleburg, accompanied by the famous Middleburg Hunt hounds. It's a beautiful sight and a distinctly Middleburg way to begin the Christmas season.
At 2:00 PM, the annual Christmas Parade brings decorated floats, marching bands, local organizations, animals, and Santa Claus through the heart of town. Families line Washington Street to enjoy the procession, surrounded by the historic buildings and small-town character that make Middleburg so special.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy local restaurants, food trucks, music, and holiday shopping.

Part of what makes Christmas in Middleburg so special is the town itself. Between the Hunt Review and afternoon parade, there's plenty of time to explore the independent boutiques, galleries, and restaurants along Washington Street.

Planning Your Visit
Christmas in Middleburg draws a large crowd, so plan to arrive early. Advance parking and shuttle arrangements are strongly recommended, as regular parking in town and along Route 50 will not be available during the event.
