Pens
Fineliners, Gel Pens and Everyday Pens
The working end of the stationery range: the pens you actually write with, in the colours you actually want, at prices that make it easy to buy several at once. Almost everything here is under four dollars.
The STABILO Point 88 is the one that has been on desks for decades, and it is one of Europe's best-selling fine liners. The tip is 0.4mm with a metal casing, which is what gives it a long life and lets it run along a stencil or a straightedge without fraying. The ink is water-based and formulated to survive long periods with the cap off, which matters if you put a pen down mid-sentence. It comes in dozens of colours, sold individually, so a set can be built one at a time rather than bought as a box.
Zebra covers the gel pens, which work on the same paper as the notepads. The Sarasa Clip is a 0.5mm retractable with water-based pigment ink that is acid free and water resistant, which means it does not smudge once it has dried and it will not fade in a notebook kept for years. It has a rubber grip and a large spring clip that attaches to a thick pocket or a book cover. The bLen was designed with the Japanese studio Nendo and is built to remove the vibration you get from a normal pen: a gap-free internal mechanism cuts the noise, and a brass weight at the tip lowers the centre of gravity so it sits steadier in the hand.
The Gelly Roll range is the one for colour. The Moonlight and Metallic lines write on dark paper as well as white, which makes them useful for cards and envelopes rather than just notes, and they come in fine and medium tips.
Le Pen is the classic for lists and lettering, with a micro-fine plastic tip that gives a clean, consistent line and a long list of shades. It is the pen most people here buy in threes.
Nothing in this collection costs much, which is deliberate, and they are the natural pairing with the notebooks. The best way to find the pen you like is to buy one of each and use them for a week.
We keep the range in stock. If there is a particular colour or tip size you are looking for that you are not able to find on the website, reach out to us and we will be glad to help.
